I was born and raised on a farm in Lake Elmo, Minnesota. I graduated from the University of Minnesota-Morris with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Liberal Arts for Human Services. During my time at Morris, I was an All-American wrestler on the first women's collegiate wrestling program in the nation. During my senior year of college, I had the amazing opportunity to teach English in Cameroon, Africa. Those two experiences speak to my competitive nature, desire to challenge myself, and my adventurous spirit!
I moved to Colorado Springs in 1998 and soon afterwards began my career in the financial services sector at T. Rowe Price. During my nine year career, I worked primarily in management roles- from managing in a call center to managing a team of 15 within the retirement division. As the leader of that team, I oversaw the handling of the 401k functions of more than 35 clients and over $4 billion in assets. My background of client services and financial knowledge will be instrumental in enhancing your real estate experience.
I am an active advocate here in Colorado Springs for dyslexic children. Dyslexia is estimated to affect 15-20% of the population. That's approximately 1 in 5 children, most of which are not getting proper reading instruction or services within the school day to learn how to read. I advocate for all the children, especially those un-diagnosed, but it all started with my own daughter's reading struggles. I've learned through her dyslexia that with the proper reading intervention and some accommodations, kids can be very successful in school
I met my wonderful husband Scott here in Colorado Springs, and I could not imagine living anywhere else to raise our family. We have a daughter and a son who amaze us every day and continue to keep us on our toes! As a family, we enjoy taking advantage of all the outdoor activities that Colorado has to offer! In my free time I love doing yoga, camping and hiking.
Since I have started my Real Estate career I have been eager to learn as much as possible. I have received the Graduate, REALTOR Institute Designation (GRI), which is considered the highest educational accomplishment within our industry. I have also received the National Association of REALTOR's Military Relocation Professional (MRP) certification in order to help better serve the military community in and around the Pikes Peak Region. As well as the Accredited Buyer's Representative (ABR), Master Certified Negotiation Expert (MCNE) and the Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES) designations. I am constantly striving to improve my professional knowledge because I believe that is fundamental to providing the best possible service and experience to my clients.
In 2018 I was awarded the Sterling Society Award for sales volume. This award is presented to only the top 15% of agents within Coldwell Banker.
I look forward to the opportunity to get to know you personally and am committed to exceeding your expectations as your real estate professional! After living here for 21+ years, I do see myself as an expert in this local area . I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise about buying and selling real estate here. It's not the same everywhere, so you need someone you can trust for up-to-date information. I am eager to serve you. Here are some of the things I can do for you:
Find Your Next Home
You need someone who knows this area inside and out! I can work with you to find the right home at the right price for you, including all the neighborhood amenities that matter - not to mention the essential criteria you have for your ideal home.
Sell a Home
When it's time to move, you need someone who will advertise your home, show to prospective buyers, negotiate the purchase contract, arrange financing, oversee the inspections, handle all necessary paperwork and supervise the closing. I can take care of everything you need, from start to close.
Consult on Home Selling Tactics
Oftentimes buyers don't visualize living in your home the way you do. I can make your home attractive to its ideal audience - which can help you get top dollar. Things like staging the home, making repairs or minor improvements, or even simply painting the walls can be the difference between a home resting on the market and one that's sold fast.
